Here’s an idea for an easy mission project for the Advent season, originally spotted in the British Methodist Church’s newsletter. It can bring a little joy to people who may be sad or alone.
Ask your church members to write a message and sign an extra Christmas card. Collect the cards at the church, then deliver them to a local nursing home. Of course, contact needs to be made with the nursing home in advance and distribution arrangements agreed upon. Brighten someone’s day with a Christmas card!

Jerry Talbott, member of Ogden Friendship House UMC, recently received the 2012 Ogden Citizen of the Year award. Jerry is a church trustee, Sunday school leader, daily volunteer at the Ogden Friendship House of Hope, daily volunteer with the Ogden Community Center and also delivers meals on wheels to shut ins. He is active in the VFW and American Legion. Congratulations, Jerry!
